My 10 Daily Habits
The day is here, cease the day.
There are habits that when done every day will transform your life for the better, and will give you a better version of Yourself!
Everyone is different: different personalities, different lifestyles, different goals, so pick what works for you and what you want to accomplish.
I will present you with what works for me. But I will, however, be totally honest with you, not every day is a good day, and some days things just don’t happen as planned, and that’s also okay.
What I mean is the daily habits that I will share with you here are the habits that done daily make me happy, ready, and confident to cease my day.
So here are my 10 daily habits:
1. Workout
I like to start my day with some sort of workout.
And I do like to work out, I always did, so for me working out really makes me feel good.
I like to run outside, it’s my Me time, time alone with myself, my music, my thoughts, and nature. Never after a run, I have felt worse than before I started, it always improves my energy, my motivation, and my mood. So it’s a great way to start the day.
After my run, I like to add any other kind of workout. I personally like body pump, high intensity workout, dance, yoga, swim, spinning, so I just alternate them.
It seems a lot, but I try to dedicate a maximum of 2 hours in the morning to my workout.
But it will depend on the day, some days I only do 1 hour, other days only 30 minutes, and that’s okay too.
And some days, I will have rest days and I don’t work out at all, and that’s also important.
2. Inversion Therapy
In 2015, I ran my second London Marathon, and the goal was to also run the Lisbon Marathon later that year, however after months of training and when I was just one month away from running the Lisbon Marathon, I got sciatica.
This means that for months I had a lot of pain in my right leg. That was caused by some slipped discs in my spine that were pressuring my sciatic nerve.
I don’t like to take any kind of medicine unless I really have to, and the doctor told me at the time that there is no medicine to cure this problem, he only could give me medicine to mask the pain, as he put it, which I tried at first, but it didn’t help, so I stopped.
Long story short, I found that walking and some type of exercise would help, so I did that daily. And it was also then that I read about Inversion Therapy.
In Inversion Therapy, you hang yourself by your feet for a few minutes, and it has been great for my back, so I do it every day and the back pain has stayed away.
Just a small disclaimer: Please understand that I am only sharing with you my personal experience, in no way is this medical advice because I am not an expert.
3. Meditate
Another habit I have is meditating.
I am terrible at it. But I keep trying and learning about it.
I try to do it, even if it’s just for a few minutes.
During the day, I have so much to do, and so much to solve. I need to make sure that my mind is clear, that I can focus better. With meditation, I try to take myself, my mind to a higher level, focus only on my body, on my breath, and on the moment. I cannot explain why or how, but after meditating I am ready to take whatever comes with a clear mind.
So I really recommend it.
4. Reading is another daily habit.
Reading was always a habit of mine. I always enjoyed it.
Books have always been part of my life, they are one of my addictions.
And I do mean the physical book, I need to turn the pages, have a library, I don’t get used to digital books.
I hear people say all the time that they don’t have time to read, but then they spend hours watching tv, so go figure…
Don’t get me wrong, I also enjoy a good tv show, a good movie, some golf program, a concert, or a documentary on tv, but my reading has priority, even if it’s just for 30 minutes.
5. Learning daily is another big habit of mine.
I always enjoyed learning new things, new skills, so every day I learn. I take courses, I read books, I read articles, I watch videos or I listen to podcasts.
Learn from the ones who already know it and you will get better at it.
6. Prioritize my tasks
Another habit that I have, and I highly recommend it, is prioritizing my tasks.
I decide what I have to do that day and then I give each task a number, being 1, the one that has to be done first, 2 the one that has to be done second, and so on, you get the idea.
Like this, when I start my daily tasks, I go with first things first attitude. This helps me a lot, besides it reduces stress, because I don’t have to be thinking about a lot of things at the same time, I focus on the one I have to do first. Of course, this is not black and white, and there is always something that pops up and was not planned, but then I just reorganize and keep going.
7. Plan ahead
I like to plan my month, my week and my day ahead.
Does it seem like a lot? Well, it’s not. At the beginning of each month I plan my goals for that month and the tasks that I have to do, of course, that during the month, things keep changing and I will keep adding tasks or even erase some that don’t need to happen any more.
I do the same for each week. Every Sunday I will plan my week ahead. And every evening I plan my next day.
And every time I finish the tasks planned and I check them off of my list, it gives me a great feeling of accomplishment and motivation. So I really recommend it!
8. Eat healthy
In order to feel well during the day, you need to fuel your body with what it needs to function well.
When I eat healthy, I have more energy, so I try to do it as much as I can.
What helps me to eat healthy is to decide in advance what I’m going to eat that day, if I don’t do it, and I just think about it when I’m hungry, that is a disaster.
Food is like exercise, you have to choose what works for you, because we are all different, so what works for me doesn’t necessarily work for you.
9. Drinking lots of water is also a good habit that I have.
I drink water all day! I love water, so no problems there.
I hear some people say they never drink water, I have no idea how that’s possible. I cannot imagine not drinking water.

10. Sleep good and enough
No matter what kind of day I had, good or bad, I need to sleep. I know I need to give my body and mind a few hours of rest to get up in the morning and face another day. Easier said than done when things are not going well, but I need my body and mind to function well in the morning to solve anything.
So here they are, My 10 Daily Habits that make me happy, give me energy, and keep me focused.
I would love to hear your feedback about it, please let me know what works for you.
